Bedtime for Toys

With the energy of punk and the soul of R&B, Bedtime for Toys iz the definition of PUNK n’ B. However, that hasn’t stopped the international press from trying to pen their own descriptions of the band while raving about their one-of- a-kind sound.

URB Magazine called The ‘Toys “…a celestial hybrid of electro, hip-hop, pop and metal”, The NME predicted, “…they may well prove to be the hipsters Black Eyed Peas”, The Denver Post attested, “…if Heavy D and Deborah Harry ever collaborated during their respective heydays, the result would have been something akin to Bedtime for Toys” while Rolling Stone simply named them one of the “25 Best Bands on MySpace”.

Hailing from the Koreatown area of Los Angeles, The ‘Toys have toured the US and UK, sharing the stage with cutting- edge artists like Diplo, Kid Sister, Moving Units, Har Mar Superstar, and Lady Sovereign. They’ve also had the unique opportunity to collaborate with some of their musical heroes like Tom Tom Club and Le Tigre on several critically acclaimed EPs.

Leading The ‘Toys is frontwoman Marchelle B. One particularly excited journalist accurately depicted her as a “genetically invented superblonde made from the proteins and enzymes of Madonna, Gwen Stefani, Deborah Harry, and Debbie Gibson…hard- drinking, adorable, full of energy, spunky, engrossing, sexy, dangerous, and rather easy on the eyes.”

Her right-hand man is Toussaint aka Boy Genius. He’s a keyboard playing MC and music production genius that has remixed artists as far ranging as Wolfmother, Nelly Furtado, and Lil’ Wayne.

Her left-hand man is Sammy JC. He’s a heavy metal guitar shredder that’s been possessed by the rock n’ roll spirit ever since partying backstage with AC/DC at ten years old.

The thumping heartbeat of The ‘Toys comes from their badass bass player, Nashii Noramly. She was the former member of such pioneering UK bands as Ganger and F.O. Machete and holds the title of the youngest person ever to climb the highest mountain in Southeast Asia!

The lock solid groove of The ‘Toys comes from the band’s phenom drummer, Kenan “Kee-Mo” Moore. Before Bedtime for Toys, Kenan got his start performing in Sunday church, playing in punk bands, and touring the world with his guitar-playing Dad who brings the funk with the legendary Earth Wind & Fire.

All together, the five members of Bedtime for Toys form a family of musical misfit orphans who have finally found a home in this unlikely collective. They are currently recording a full length studio album at a downtown art gallery in the Los Angeles Toy District.
