Threads of Sound is dedicated to supporting independent labels, artist and businesses as the music industry becomes increasing reliant on the internet to remain viable. At its core is software framework that allows developers to build promotional, community and e-commerce sites with the minimum or effort and have those sites share information such as artist bios, pictures, release dates, track listings and gig listings. Bands and labels can also use this site to publish their information to the network and to create a branded microsite or shop with no programming experience.

The framework itself will be released on this site in 2008 under an open source license allowing any developer to use it.
